This catalogue accompanied the third exhibition in the series 'The Whitechapel Boys', who were a group of Jewish artists from London's East End that had a huge impact on 20th century art. The main focus of this publication is the artist Jacob Kramer and his brother-in-law William Roberts, who met at the Slade School of Fine Art, and their contribution to British modernism. The exhibition was held by Ben Uri, in conjunction with the University Gallery Leeds, where it was first shown. The publication contains essays by Andrew Gibbon-Williams, Ruth Artmonsky, Rachel Dickson, Pauline Paucker and David Glasser and it includes 92 illustrations.
