ARTISTS WITHOUT STUDIOS PRIZE

A residency and exhibition opportunity
for young artists at Ben Uri

11 AUGUST - 6 SEPTEMBER 2009

Congratulations to:

Ting-Ting Cheng, photographer
Sophie Fishel, sculptor
Benedict Goodwin, painter
David J Huglin, painter/installation artist

who have been selected from over 100 entrants worldwide to create a new project in residence at BU this month.

The artists will be working in pop-up studios at Ben Uri Gallery from 11th to 31st August. The gallery will open to the public every weekday afternoon so don't miss this unique opportunity to come and meet the artists, talk to them about their art and witness work in progress.

The studios will be removed to make way for a group show, curated by Katy Barron, between 1st-6th September. Admission to the gallery is FREE to everyone throughout this period.

One of BU's aims is to offer opportunities to professional artists at every stage in their careers. A studio is essential for an artist to create most effectively but they are expensive, especially at the outset of an artist's career. This new prize of a residency and exhibition gives you an opportunity to recognise the talent of these four exceptional emerging artists and, in parallel, help towards them finding a studio of their own.

Our thanks to Pauline and Daniel Auerbach for sponsoring this new initiative
